Sodor Dairy Cair Sep 12, 2009

The Sodor Dairy Cars are proving to be a nice addition to our Thomas the Train collection. The real wood cars are nicely detailed and seem to be quite durable. The mooing cow when the dairy car door is opened and closed is a nice touch. My toddler very much enjoys playing with the dairy cars as he is frequently seen pretending to drink the milk. However, a word of caution - if you have a child who likes to put non food items in his or her mouth I would consider removing the milk bottle as it could be a potential choking hazard. I would recommend this item to a friend.

Great addition to your railway Aug 05, 2010

Kids love trains. And kids love cows. Especially when they moo. Thomas and Friends brings this all together with this great 2-car set. The dairy car has a sliding door, with a cow hidden behind it. When you open and shut the door, you get a nice "moo". The other car has a milk barrel, with a magnet on the top for use with cranes. We have lost the milk barrel a couple times, and it tends to end up under the couch. It is a small part, so if you have a real "mouthy" little one, you might want to take that into consideration.

Good idea...but points off for plastic Mar 18, 2008
By John Smith Both the boxcar and the open wagon with milk have very little wood on them, so paying 20$ for hunks of plastic seems a little much right?! While it is steep, as I have said before you can get these on sale if you are lucky, and add them to any train for a fun time. The boxcar's moving door sounds are clever and I found them not to be too loud or irritating like the sounds the battery powered trains make. Aside from that, they are relatively well made. My only question is why they made the dairy cars like this when in most of the videos, the dairy cars are milk tankers. I heard they used to make milk tankers...maybe search Ebay if you can find a cheaper version. Well I bought this and since there is a lack of regular freight vans, the milk van works well for that too.

Fun Nov 26, 2011

Our grandson really loves playing with this as it not only makes the noise when the door is slide over but the milk can is able to be moved around and placed in other Thomas train cars or trucks.
The noise is not really a great sounding one, as one might be pressed to ID it as from a cow but the grandson still enjoys it.

Child Fun! Jan 05, 2011
By Awesome Aunt! We bought this item for my nephew (2) for Christmas to go with his new Thomas Train. This piece is far more detailed than many of the others. The door slides on the cargo train and the cows moo. He loved it!
