Fun with Lucy Dec 12, 2008
By B. Applegate This doll set is in the Pink Label Barbie Collection. Lucy and Ethel are wearing matching pink uniforms with hats and Lucy has pearl earrings and necklace. They have their cheeks bulging with chocolates. They have wide open eyes with hair (not painted on) eyelashes. They are holding squares of paper with a cardboard "chocolate" in their right hands. These are probably removeable since they don't show in the pictures on the website. Lucy says, "Ethel, I think we're fighting a losing game!" in a clip from the show. The doll may say more but I have not opened it to see and the box does not say.
This is a cute set for any Barbie collector or lover of I Love Lucy.

Mom's Birthday Mar 22, 2009

I am a little bit after the era of this show, but many are the fond memories of my mother and I watching it together. She always related to Lucy... which even if it's a little frightening , provided a lot of childhood entertainment. I got her this for her birthday this year, and she really loved these dolls. They are beautiful!

True to Series. Says four phrases Jul 04, 2009
By Talvi I opened mine just to see what was inside. When you take the stand out, the base can be turned to 'on' from 'try me' and four or so phrases from the show are recorded:
"Oh, this is easier"
"What are you doing you know .......is that so"
"Hey this is fun!"
"Ethel, I think we're fighting a losing game"
The flat cardboard chocolate in Lucy's hand fell off as soon as I took it out of the box. But I really like how these are sculpted - the fake eyelashes, bumps in the cheeks from the candy, and expressions. In all, a lovely set.

Perfect for I Love Lucy fans :] Jan 10, 2009
By Yukiko I was so excited when I received the package with the Lucy and Ethel dolls. :] At first I was unsure to buy it because the pictures make them look like they're just puckering their lips, but no :D. They look really good in person! The doll looks just like Lucy with her face and the hair and Ethel looks kinda like the real Ethel (or Vivian Vance).
One thing that disappointed me a bit was the little chocolates.. I thought they were going to be like little plastic or rubber mounds, but they're just cardboard paper :[.. Oh well I'm probably not going to open the box anyways ;D
Overall, if you're obsessed with the I Love Lucy show (like me), this is something you should really buy!
And it's a great buy because it's like 2 for the price of 1 :]

Very pleased Dec 08, 2009
By A. Foley I wasn't aware that it came with a button you can push to hear taglines from the episode. Unfortunately, the button doesn't work. It was still a great price & I am pleased!!! It is not an educational toy, but that isn't the point. Who watches I Love Lucy to be educated?
