It works! Jul 16, 2010 At first it didn't light up as much. I guess the water current wasn't strong enough, but it kicked in a few days later and it works exactly as stated. I like to take a shower with the lights off and dance in the shower like i'm in a club.
Fun and cool .. or hot.. Apr 29, 2010 Bought and installed this and so far it's pretty cool. (or hot if you are taking a hot shower :P). I am a person who hates to have all the lights on in the morning and love to take a shower in the dark to give myself some time to wake up slower. This thing is perfect for someone like that cause its bright enough to illuminate in a dark bathroom but is in no way blinding. It's not bright enough to be really usefully if the lights in the bathroom are on but since I'm a "shower in the dark" person, its perfect. If you don't shower in the dark regularly then I don't see this being something you will notice all the time. I guess the application is if you "share" a shower with someone in the dark... guess that would work ;)
Some things to note:
Installation - you don't have to be a plumber to install this (which I am not). But it was not a simple take out of the package, screw on and use. Even though I thinks its suppose to be. My advice, if you don't have any already, get some plumbers tape along with buying this item. Shower heads are suppose to be one size fits all but I don't think they try hard on that. The screw on part for this shower head was just a tad too big and I needed to build up a little plumbers tape on the threads of the shower pipe to get a good seal and fit. Other than that no problems.
Second thing to note and this is just more preference or a feature request... The light is blue for cold water and Red for hot water. Not sure how many cold showers that others take but I don't and so I pretty much am only going to see the red light. Not a big deal and I guess this is cool so you can see that the water is hot without doing the age old "hold your hand under the water". My building gets hot water really fast so I don't really ever see the blue. It would be cool if you could pick between colors displayed.
Very fun, very cool
Hog Wild light shower Feb 15, 2010 It is what it is. The shower head restricts the water pressure so don't expect the same amount of water to hit your body. It would have been nicer to be able to select a color that would stay on rather than the blue to red that is offered. The quality is marginal. I would not think this will last more than a year.
Buyer Beware Feb 11, 2010 I should have paid more attention to the reviews that warned about the flaws of this product. Instead, I was hopeful that none of it would apply to me. So here's my personal experience: the water flow was reduced to a trickle even when my husband followed instructions from others on how to solve this problem. The red light wasn't working. Worst of all, we missed the return expiration by one week. The lesson learned here: do not buy gadgets that don't have good reviews.
cool idea, or just a waste of money? Nov 29, 2009 this product is a very cool idea. but once getting it, i quickly realized the lights are not as bright as pictured on the box. this didnt bother me that much, and the water flow was a little less than my old shower head. but the red lights did come on for hot and blue lights for cold. this lasted for about 6 to 7 months before i started to notice some problems. the lights will start to blink, and sometimes blue will come on for hot and red will be on for cold. hitting the 9 month mark i have noticed alot of build up of rust under the shower cap and sometimes the lights just didnt come on. at that point is when i threw it away.
so the shower head is a good gift for a few months but thats about it. id save your money.
