A FANTASTIC unisex toy. I was looking all over for a house of sorts for my 3 1/2 year old grandson because he loved playing with a set of 25 year old Little People that his mother had . This is the first thing he heads to when he comes over. He plays for hours with it. He rings the doorbell and says "hi honey, I'm home!!" and a long building block up against the house for the dog and people to "climb" up onto the roof and sit. Best thing I ever bought for him.

We've become big fans of Mainstreet Village in our house. This cottage is fun and gender neutral, with lots of furniture pieces and sounds inside the house for little hands to play with. We actually bought the entire Town Square collection, which includes this cottage, a shop, a vet's office, and a nice play mat. It's a lot of pieces and a lot of fun at a reasonable price.

As a play system, I prefer Main Street to Little People's because the collections come with several pieces like trucks, animals, newsstands, etc. And the more little pieces to play with and manipulate, the longer my little guy stays interested! It's also a little smaller scale than Little Peoples, which is nice for storage.

Of cause it is fun!! I'm so impress with the color, style and the quality. I didn't want my 15 month old daughter to play my Playmobil Vitorian house (small parts). So when I see this set at a discount store, I took it in hand right the way...can't believe I got it this way. All the sounds are very clear and charming...like high-end sound. All the parts on the house are screwed and thick plastic....looking very safe and durable. The only thing I can complain is the paint job on the family and on the door. May be that's why it was in a discount store. You can wash the family...I love it. Better than just wipe.
