1Can't get the money OUT!  Dec 07, 2008
By Jill
I bought this bank for my 3 year old daughter. She loves it--it's everything all the reviewers said, cute, durable, etc...

BUT! It's VERY VERY VERY HARD to get the coins back out the bottom. There's a "lip" of rubber all around the edge of the opening that makes it nearly impossible to get your finger in and scoop out coins. Plus, the pig's legs are hollow. When you shake the bank to get all the coins to the bottom so you can get them out, most of them fall into the legs. It's very frustrating for her, and even I have a hard time when she asks me to fish out her money for her.

5Great Traditional Piggy Bank  Jul 30, 2007
By Kathy Austell
My granddaughter and I searched high and low for a good, classical piggy bank. It was surprisingly difficult to find one that wasn't tacky or that didn't look cheap. This is a wonderful bank, not of porcelain, although the same style is offered in ceramics, but of a durable rubber material that will endure. This bank was more expensive than others, but is a quality product.

5The Rubber Piggy Bank was great!  Mar 09, 2007
By J. M. Dowdell
The Rubber Piggy Bank was perfect for my 2 year old great niece. She carries it everywhere she goes, ties a balloon to it, gives it a ride in her wagon....and if she drops it....it doesn't break...and she can't get hurt. It is perfect!

5Non-breakable piggy bank  Jul 04, 2007
By D. Tilton "life is supposed to be fun"
I bought this bank for my first, second and THIRD grandsons. It is wonderful! Finally, a durable and non-breakable piggy bank. My grandsons love to put their money in this bank. They are able to pick it up and carry it around if they want without fear of broken glass should they drop it. It is a wonderful tool for teaching them to save money. When it gets full, my daughter takes the money out and counts it with them, then takes it to the bank to deposit into each of their respective bank accounts. The boys understand where their money is and how it gets there.

Since the banks were identical she used a permanent marker to mark the bottom of the paw on each bank with each grandson's initial. I wish they would come out with another one with a different scarf for girls too. I'm sure it would be easy to make one if you are so inclined.

1good for older kids  Jun 22, 2009
By megan
This is a perfectly well-made functional piggy bank. If, however, you plan to take the money out with any regularity (say, your 3-year-old's favorite game is to put coins in, then have you empty the bank so she can do it again), I don't recommend it. The coins fall down into the legs and are very difficult to get out of the hole, which is in the tummy of the pig.
