We bought the Spyro Gyro pen for a Hanukkah present. My daughter was very excited to use it however, two of the pen tip colors did not work properly. It is also difficult to find the correct amount of pressure to place on the pen to get the desired shape. I would not recommend this for young children. My daughter is 9 and is having trouble.

Seemed like it would be fun, probably would be if it wasn't a piece of trash. Comes with several refill inks. That's good since it runs out of ink after 2-3 drawings. My 8 year old would need the skills of Picasso to make this do anything. The old Spyro Graph had a perimeter piece to give it shape, this is just a pen out of control. This is a great idea and my kids loved the pen initially, but it broke after the first day and never worked again.

I received the product and put it together. Not good quality, seems like it will break super easy. Its VERY loud. When you press the tip to the paper, the inside motor wheel things jam and makes this horrible screeching loud noise and it stops working. I can't return it because I lost one of the little tips that "change the shape of the spiral"... if only it would make a spiral..... Don't buy this, you will be disappointed. If you're interested in a spiral doodle pen go for the Squiggle Wiggle Pen.

Fun pen for a 7 year old. I gave it 4 stars because it's a little awkward, but that is just a symptom of the type of product not the design. Once it's used a few times, the child gets used to it and it's a fun addition to the many writing utensils this age child likes to use.
