I purchased this toy for a group of 3-5 year olds and they loved it. Were fascinated. They didn't seem to have ever seen a jack in the box before. I chose the bear over clown, etc., so that they would not be frightened. And that worked well, too. Have not used it extensively or in unsupervised situation, and the children definitely like to see if they can hold the top down so the bear can't jump out. Hopefully, it will be durable.

I tried this toy for my 2 year old daughter today. She gets so much joy out of it. Everytime the teddy bear pops up she screams and giggles with laughter. Schylling classic toys are the best, they have many more that are great. This toy is safe and is a lot of fun for children.

A toy loved for more than one generation. And no scary clown. My granddaughter liked it as a baby and now (2.5), using powers of reasoning to figure out how to get him to pop out without winding it, but enjoying it just the same.

This jack in the box type toy is very cute. The "box" is made of metal, and my 10 month old has dropped it many times already and I don't even see a dent. The latch is sturdy, so far, as long as you realize it doesn't re-latch itself until after the song has played, so you need to turn the crank a few more times after the bear pops out. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for an old-fashioned toy like this.

Was very pleased with this Jack-In-The-Box when it came in. Box sides are colorful, with BEAR spelled out one letter on each side. Very cute. Love the teddy bear popping out of the box, great improvement vs the 'Jack' or 'Clowns' that popped out in the past. The bear itself is soft too. Kids love it. Oh.. and to add comment to durability.... While I had this gift wrapped under Christmas Tree, our German Shepard decided to open a few packages one night. This gift was one of them. His teeth marks were on the cardboard base this came in, but, believe it or not, not one mark nor one scuff was on the box itself. It wasn't damaged at all. Item still looked shiney & new. I was shocked & relieved!!!!! So to me, this holds up well.
