Please be aware that I may have a little bit of OCD Nov 27, 2011
By Tiffany Pitts This game may look like an awesome toy on the outset but we've owned it for over 5 years and I have to say, I shake with rage every time I come in contact with this product. Not that my son didn't enjoy trying to eat it as a toddler. He also really liked taking the cards, bending them out of shape and stuffing them into the heat register if they would fit. But as for learning colors and numbers, there are much less irritating ways to do that. Here are my main complaints about this product:
1. Everything in our games shelf is nice and linear (except for Jenga but I can live with the Jenga box). The box that these cards comes in is a molded plastic representation of Thomas. And while it delighted my son into fits of giggles when he was 2, it will not stack with anything else, ever. You will have to dedicate a large portion of valuable toy-shelf real estate to it because it cannot be thrown into a bin, basket or toy box. It must sit flat, by itself because....
2. The lid does not snap into place. You can rest it on top of the case. It even sits flush with the bottom piece of the case. However, if you so much as look at this thing cross-eyed it will fall off whichever shelf you have dedicated to it, the lid will fly in unknown directions (usually toward the cat) and the cards will fling themselves joyously all over your house for you toddler to squeal with delight. Then, your child will run around trying to grab them and stuff them into their mouth or the heater vents before you can get them all wrangled back into the plastic case - a task that takes, on average, 7 minutes to complete. Do you realize how fast a toddler can move in seven minutes? Within a fortnight, I wanted to give this thing to someone I didn't like very much but I couldn't because....
3. It has Thomas the Train on it. My son loved Thomas the Train. He had a TtT toothbrush, a TtT pillow case, even TtT underwear. If I so much as THOUGHT about getting rid of this thing, big fat crocodile tears formed at the corner of his eyes. I couldn't be that parent. And because of my weakness, we still have this, the most annoying game of UNO ever invented - minus several threes, a few sixes and a Draw 2 card which now live in the heater system of our last house.
To summarize:
Yes, your kid will like this! It's fun to make a mess every seventeen seconds and wait for mom or dad to clean it up - just so they can do it again. But there are other Thomas themed toys out there that, while not as tasty as the My First UNO deck may be, are much less frustrating for YOU, the parent. Do yourself a favor and don't introduce this level of toy-induced irritation into your home. You don't need it.

fun game Nov 08, 2008
By Sara I bought the game at kmart for $8 and for that price it is a really fun game for my two year old son. The case is disappointing as it doesn't have a latch to keep the cover on if it tipped over. I was shocked to see it so expensive here. I thought eight was a bit steep when I got it, but is a good game for my son who is a Thomas fan to learn colors, numbers, and the overall game.

Great game, flimsy card. Sep 13, 2008
By 1stime Mom We love playing the game and it's a great way to reiforce colors, numbers, and matching--and with a favorite character! But the weight of these cards was really disappointing, as was the case. All the other My First Uno cards (all $10 less too!) are much heavier card stock that are much more durable. The Thomas plastic case (which you are, basically, paying for) doesn't snap closed, so you have to keep it lying down somewhere safe. That, or put a rubber band around it. Hardly wortht he extra $$$. I found the Curious George version at our local drug store for $7.99 and the cards are much nicer.
