child pleasing Dec 28, 2008
By Penny Legacy My son is a Thomas the Train fan. He was just three when his love of
trains began. He still loves them. He is now seven and asked for a
jack-in-the-box for Christmas. I was very surprised due to his age.
However, I got on the computer and was so excited to find one with the
Thomas the Train Theme. I think it was by far- one of his favorite
Christmas presents (and I might add one of the most economical for us.)

Not for toddlers Jan 10, 2008
By J. Harris When the gear is turned, the 'puppet' just sits there stuffed in the box. It doesn't automatically pop up. You have to use a hand to urge it to come up. Also I found that toddlers don't understand the clockwise/counterclockwise concept and try to turn it the opposite way. I tried to demonstrate the 'correct way' to a 2 year-old and it was just frustrating to him that he couldn't turn it the way he wanted.

poor quality Dec 06, 2007

One corner of box had paint scratched off. Very hard to close lid after Sir Topham Hatt pops out. It takes two hands to do it and considering I bought it for my two year old grandson who hasn't quite got the dexterity for that yet, it means someone has to be there to keep shutting the lid. When I emailed the seller regarding this I got no response what so ever.

I looked everywhere for this type of jack-n-the box. My grandson loves Thomas the train. He got it for Christmas. Both of my grandson love it. They can play forever with it.
Mr. Topham Hat in the Box Jan 19, 2009
By J. Mijangos It arrived quickly, in perfect shape. It is bright and attractive and fun. You just need to show your toddler how to crank it just a little past the popping open, so that when you push Mr. Topham Hat back in he will stay.
